INTRODUCTION:
In the story of the Absolutely True Diary Of A Part Time Indian is based on a boy called Junior who has a rough life and lives in poverty. He chooses to move on in life when he decides to join a school filled with white people. In this story we see how Junior is presented as an outsider. When Junior joins Rearden he feels as though he does not belong their. As Junior leaves his old life behind he realizes how much he misses everybody. Junior is a boy who has many problems such as his health and his poverty. As his new life begins he is stared at by many white school kids who look at his as though he is a monster.
PARAGRAPH 1:
In this paragraph we see how Juniors life changes over time when he joins Rearden. As Junior changes the way he lives by moving in to Reardan he gets stared at as though he is a monster or big foot this quote suggests that Junior feels like an outsider as he is being watched as though he had done something wrong. In Reardan Juniors life changes, it may be because he is a native American which is a strange thing to see from a white persons view. Junior gets treated like a myth like big foot that is because he has entered a land where no native has been before and seeing a new face changed may be a reason why the Rearden kids find him strange to look at.
PARAGRAPH 2:
In this paragraph I will talk about how Juniors life of poverty makes him look like an outsider. Junior a boy who has a family that means the world to him lives in a life of poverty. Compared to the white rich kids Junior has nothing. Juniors life of poverty makes him look like an outsider in Reardan as the white kids are all wealthy and got all the latest technology, Junior is a boy who has a bin bag as a schoolbag which shows the difference between the two towns. We see that Junior and his family could not afford to pay the price to take his dog to the vet so they shot him dead where as people in Reardan have good health care, designer clothing, pets, technology and much more. This shows how Juniors poverty makes him an outsider.
PARAGRAPH 3:
I will be writing about Juniors health which tells us about him being an outsider. Juniors health and problems are hard to control as he has a major health problem which could lead to problems in his future life. Where as the white people have no worries as they have great health care and there health and problems are taken care of as soon as they start. This shows that Junior is an outsider as his health is majorly bad. Reardan health care is so good that they could solve Juniors problems just like that but as Junior lives in a life of poverty his family can not afford to pay for all these major operations. This makes Junior an outsider.
PARAGRAPH 4:
In this paragraph I will tell you how Junior is presented as and outsider when he had gone to a dessert diner with his friends and only had $5. This shows that Junior is an outsider as he had probably never been in a dessert place before and could only afford something for $5. Where as a friend of Juniors had given Junior $40 to pay for the bill. This shows that Junior is an outsider because of his life in poverty which showed people that Junior was not rich and could not afford things unlike the white people. The white Reardan kids could afford anything such as the latest items. This paragraph showed that Junior was an outsider due to the reason that he can not afford to pay for items unlike others.
